36 DAYS OF CHILDHOOD MEMORIES

For the yearly #36daysoftype 2018 challenge, I tried to showcase some of my loveliest childhood memories through the twenty-six alphabets and ten numbers of the English alphabet. If you are a 90's kid, I hope you can re-live some of these memories through these illustrations!

Here is the first one! The most common rhyme I sang during my childhood.

As a child I loved balloons! But somehow it always ended like this!

As a child, I hated when my Crayons broke. I was very possessive about my stationary. I still am. Letter C depicts my love for crayons, because that is what started my journey towards art!

Playing dark room was one of the most fun things to do as a child. When someone would come to find me, I would close my eyes tight, thinking that that won't be able to see me, if I can't see them.

Every year my father would take me to the circus. I would love to see the elephants and clowns. Once in grade 12, my dad said he was going to take me to see the circus. I said, 'I'm not a child anymore', to which he said 'you will always be a child for me'. Letter is dedicated to that childhood memory!

My fingernails never needed a nail cutter when I was a kid. My mother tried every possible thing so I stop biting my nails. It finally stopped when I finished school I think!

Letter H is dedicated to Hanse, our dog. Our lives were filled with so much happiness when he was around. No human can make you as happy as a dog can. I miss him!

I
Ink pens were compulsory during school time. No ball point pens or gel pens were allowed. I do believe that using a fountain pen in childhood contributed largely to my good handwriting, and till date, I have all my ink pens from childhood, a pretty good collection of them!

I’m guessing almost all the people born in the 90s in India must have played this game. Lagori or Lingocha, as I called it, was one of the most fun games!

Do you miss going to the Mela? Letter M is dedicated to all the melas that I went to during childhood. It was like a mini picnic full of cotton candy, ice gola, imli, chaat, and lots of games & rides

As a kid did you like plain Noodles? I did. But my mom always tricked us by putting so many vegetables. Hated the vegetables then, but love them now!!

Letter O is dedicated to all the Ovals that were actually meant to be circles when I drew them in my childhood. Also dedicated to one of my famous pass times - a Spirograph

Paper planes were a huge part of my childhood! Origami was and still is so much fun!

Drawing vases was an all time favourite, the best was drawing all those patterns on the vase. After the scenery, I think this is what I have drawn most in my childhood.
